Scones
Ingredients Required
225g self-raising flour
11/2tbsp caster sugar
Pinch of Salt
40g butter
150ml milk
Beaten egg
Method :
Preheat the oven to 190C.Combine the flour,sugar,salt in the bowl of an electric mixer .Add the butter in pieces,then add the milk to the flour and butter.Mix until the dough just starts to hold together.Turn out to a floured surface.Roll the dough 2cm thick and cut out with fluted cutter.Place on the baking tray and brush with beaten egg.Sprinkle over it sugar.
Slide the baking tray into the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the scones are golde.Now remove it and cool on a wire rack.To freeze,wrap in clingfilm or in a freezer bag ,or in refrigerator.
